In fodjan, the mixing order of feedstuffs in your rations can be adjusted individually. The mixing order not only sorts the feedstuffs in the ration, it is also e.g.
- used in printouts of the ration.
- transferred via the feed mixing technology interface, if you have activated it.
Where do I see the mixing order in fodjan Pro?
In Pro you can see the mixing order in the ration in the edit view, more on this below. In addition, it appears on the ration recipe.
How do I change the mixing order in fodjan Pro?
- Go to Rations > Overview in the left menu.
- Select the feed group in which the ration is for which you want to change the mixing order.
- Go here to the right on the pencil icon at the ration for which you want to change the mixing order.
- Your selected ration appears. On the left side under the feed mixing technology symbol there are numbers. These indicate the current mixing order.
- Now enter the desired mixing order starting with “1”. Make sure that no number is assigned twice. It is possible to enter the numbers manually or to change them using the arrows.
Note: If numbers are assigned twice, the feedstuffs that are assigned the same number will be sorted alphabetically.
After changing the mixing order, select the “Save ration” button at the bottom right. You can now either create a new ration, copy it or overwrite it.
When does which saving option make sense?
- Create new: Here, both original and edited ration are retained. This option can be selected, for example, if the farmer and/or the feed adviser still want to view changes in the mixing order at later times. With this option, a start of feeding is set, i.e., this ration becomes the active ration at the set time.
- Copy: Here, the original and the edited ration are retained. This option can be useful if, for example, the adviser wishes to make several suggestions to the farmer for the mixing order, which all do not go into the current feeding yet, but should remain in planning. No start of feeding is set.
- Overwrite: Here the edited ration replaces the original one. You can choose this option if not every change of the mixing order has to be documented. This way the overview in the feed groups remains better. Only the edited ration remains, not the original one.
The now set mixing order appears in the recipe of the ration and is also transferred during ration export, e.g., to the feed mixing technology. Furthermore, the new mixing order is visible for all users of Pro and App.
You also have the option of adjusting the mixing order in the app. This adjusted ration is then also used for the “Feed Now” function.
How do I change the mixing order in fodjan?
- Go to “Feeding” in the menu below.
- Select the feed group in which the ration is whose mixing order you want to change.
- If you want to change the mixing order of the current ration, go to “Open Ration” here.
If you want to change the mixing order for a not current ration, scroll down. There, click on ” Planned”, “Fed” or “Saved”, depending on the status of the ration whose mixing order you want to change.
An overview of the rations in the category appears. Click on the desired ration.
- Go to “Edit” (Apple) or the pencil icon (Android) in the upper right corner.
- Press and hold the component you want to move until it appears green. Move it to the desired position.
Once you have put all the components in the desired order, go to “Save” in the upper right corner.
- When saving the ration, you have different options, “Save as new” or ” Overwrite”, each with and without a start of feeding. Select the desired option and click on “Save” at the bottom right.
When does which saving option make sense?

- When setting a start of feeding? If the ration should go into feeding from a certain date, you can set a start of feeding. Then the feeder can actively use the “Feed Now” function in feeding.
The mixing order set in this way is visible to all users of App and also in Pro and can be used in different situations.
