In fodjan you can set feed limits for your rations, i.e. minimum and maximum limits. These feed limits are then also taken into account in the ration optimisation. This can bring you the following advantages, for example:
- Healthier rations through compliance with feed restrictions
- Consideration of farm-specific feed availability
- Economic optimisation by limiting expensive feedstuffs
- Go to Animal groups in the left menu.
- Move the mouse over the feed group for which you want to set feedstuff limits. Click on the “Edit” button.
- Go to “Feedstuff limits” at the top.
On the left of the page you can enter limits for roughages, on the right limits for concentrate.
At the top you can enter general limits for how many kg DM of roughage or concentrates you want to feed per day or how many kg DM of coarse feed or concentrate you want to feed per kg DM of total ration.
All limits are to be meant as per single animal.
On the left of the roughage you can choose between the subcategories “Green fodder & pasture”, “Silage”, “Water”, “Hay/straw/dried green fodder” and “Mixed fodder (rough)”. Once you have selected the desired subcategory, you can click on the blue arrow symbol to enter the respective feed limits for this subcategory.
On the left are the limits per day (minimum and maximum), on the right the limits per kg DM of the total ration.
- The limits according to the feed model are highlighted with grey numbers. To remove them, click on the red cross symbol.
- By clicking in the corresponding field, you can also enter feed limits yourself. The self-entered limits appear as a black number. After the entry, two symbols appear to the right of the field:
- With the red cross symbol you can remove the feed limit.
- With the reset symbol you reset the feed limit to the original setting according to the feed model.
On the right of the concentrate you can choose between the subcategories “Tubers/roots”, “By-products”, “Grain fruits”, “Oilseeds”, “Compound feed”, “Feed additives” and “Animal Products”. Once you have selected the desired subcategory, you can click on the blue arrow symbol and thus enter the respective feed limits for this subcategory.
The structure and entry is analogous to that for roughage, please also read the section “Feed limits for roughage”.
To reset all feed limits, go to the top right on the red reset icon and confirm that you want to reset the feed limits. Then all values are set again according to the feed model.
